The Bill Starkie Award is given to someone who embodies the very best of what it means to be part of the WMGA — integrity, enthusiasm, and a real commitment to both the game and this community.
This 2025 recipient has shown all of that and more for a very long time – not just in good times, but especially when life has gotten difficult. Through everything, he’s continued to show strength, kindness, and a quiet determination that’s inspired all of us. Even when facing challenges most of us can only imagine, he handled those challenges with grace and determination.
Adam, why did you choose Wintonbury Hills Golf Course as your home course?
I’ve lived on Terry Plains Road since 1995, so Wintonbury Hills has been my neighborhood course for a long time. I joined the WMGA right from the start because it felt like the perfect community to be part of.
When did you join the Wintonbury Men’s Golf Association (WMGA)?
As I mentioned, I’ve been with the WMGA since day one. It’s been an incredible journey from the beginning.
For you, what makes the WMGA experience special?
It’s really two things. First, there’s this simple joy I get every Sunday morning during the season – I get in my car, put on a great song, and even though the drive to the course is only about a minute, it always puts a smile on my face. Second, it’s the wonderful relationships I’ve built with fellow members. Everyone brings something unique and positive, and I truly appreciate that sense of camaraderie.
What events do you look forward to the most?
Opening Day always excites me like no other. It’s a fantastic kickoff to the season, full of energy and good vibes.
What does it mean to you to be the Bill Starkie Award winner for 2025?
Although I missed the 2025 season due to health issues and didn’t step on the course, receiving this honor meant the world to me. It reminded me just how much care and kindness exists within the WMGA community. That’s something I cherish deeply.
Who completes your dream foursome, and where are you playing?
My dream foursome would be an unforgettable mix: Albert Einstein for his genius insights, Snoop Dogg for the laid-back vibe, Nicole Kidman for her grace and charm, and Charles Barkley to keep things lively on the course — the Philadelphia Cricket Club (“Go Phillies, Go Birds!”)
Well, it is Adam’s dream… so if he can find a way to get on the course with five… 🙂

I’m truly grateful for everyone’s kind wishes as I continue my recovery. I look forward to the day I can get back out there and enjoy the game — and the great company — with all of you.
